Protocols @ Sunnyvale

I'm excited for our Region 1 clinic this Saturday at Sunnyvale Middle School! Strive to be there by 8:45am, get dressed and be ready to line up promptly at 9am.
Remember, as martial artists, protocols like "be ready" are important to us. Why? Because they allow us to practice honor and humility with each other. So, whether you're an old pro at going to clinics, or this is your first time, here are some other protocols to keep top of mind.
Bowing
Gup students should bow to black belts and people in dress blues. If you see them, bow toward them, even before we've lined up! This might get crazy at times, as you start to recognize more and more yu dan ja and ko dan ja around the room! Don't panic, do your best, your intentions will shine thru.
Rank
When in doubt, look to senior ranks for guidance. This can mean things like following in line by rank when retrieving materials. This can mean asking questions about the day's activities, or can mean simply glancing over to remember a particular stance or technique. And it can mean helping those who are lining up behind you.
And speaking of rank and protocol, at the end of the day, you should know the name (and rank) of our Regional Director. If you have paper notebooks, this is a great piece of knowledge to write down!
Friendship
When we start to line up, introduce yourself to those next to you. Bump fists, Pow! You just made some friends! Later on, you can talk about how you got started, your last test, favorite Hyung, what got you thinking from the last session…
Aaawoooo Tang Soo!
p.s. If you have not signed up yet, DO IT NOW! https://bit.ly/Sunny2025
p.p.s. bring water and buy the pizza lunch at the door
